Travel and Advice Vaccinations

Shingles Vaccination

Shingles is a common disease that can cause long-lasting, severe pain or permanent disability. If you are aged between 70 and 79 you are eligible for a shingles vaccination which can reduce the chances of you developing this serious disease. If you have a weakened immune system you may not be suitable for this vaccine but please ask the nurse for advice.

Travel Advice and Vaccinations Service

Our Practice Nurse offers advice, information, and vaccinations for those travelling abroad. It often takes several weeks for all recommended immunisation courses to be given.

We therefore strongly advise you to complete a Travel Vaccination Form at least 8 weeks before you are due to travel.

Travel Vaccination Forms are available by telephoning the surgery. Please complete and post back to the surgery as quickly as possible.

The receptionist will make you an appointment with the Practice Nurse on receipt of your completed form.

We need at least 8 weeks’ notice of your intention to travel so that the nurse can obtain current travel advice for your destination.
