Our Practice Nurse’s responsibilities include dressings, blood tests, cervical smear tests, injections, vaccinations, Chronic Disease Management, Well Being Clinics. The nurses can also offer advice on weight management, diet and many other health related issues.
District Nursing Team
The District Nursing Team provides skilled nursing care, support and advice to people in their own homes. The District Nurses can be contacted on 0131 374 1600.

Health board pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are becoming more involved in the care of patients in General Practice. Having the pharmacy team working in our surgery provides valuable medicines support, a close link with our community pharmacy teams and allows our GPs to focus their skills and time where they are most needed for patients who have more complex needs. The administrative and secretarial staff follow guidelines agreed by the doctors and are bound by the same standards of confidentiality as clinical staff. They have many duties including arranging appointments, dealing with telephone messages, updating paper and computer record, typing of letters and report and dealing with repeat prescription requests. The aim of the administrative and secretarial staff is to help you obtain the service most appropriate to your needs.

Immunisation Clinic Venue Change
Baby and 1-year old Immunisations are now done at Leith Community Treatment Centre on a Tuesday morning. Appointments will be sent directly to parents by post.

Medical students and Nursing students attend the practice from time to time. We hope that you will cooperate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. However, you will be informed of their presence in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.
